Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to receive my order?

These barrels are made to order, I like to ship them between 1 to 2 weeks from when you place your order. Once shipped you will receive an email with tracking information. Shipping times will vary depending on what option was chosen at checkout.

I never got my order, what to do?

Please make sure you tracked your order from the email you received from us. If it says it was delivered or lost please contact me at fusionbarrelworks@gmail.com so I can contact the shipper and resolve the issue. I may need to send you a new one depending on the situation.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, however you will be responsible for any duties and or taxes that arise for your home country.  We will not be collecting these upfront so you won't be charged twice.

What if my barrel is leaking?

All barrels are tested for leaks with water before they leave. Small amounts are normal and will usual resolve themselves after a couple days, this gives the wood time to absorb the liquid and expand to fill in any gaps. You may also see small amounts of liquid if it's stored where there are frequent changes in temperature and humidity. If you are seeing a steady stream or a big puddle then please contact me as this isn't normal.

How to seat and remove the bung?

To seat the bung you just want to give it one firm tap, you don't want to hit it too hard or it will be very difficult to remove once it's swollen. To remove the bung you want to give it a few good hits on the side from all angles and then I use some channel lock pliers without teeth to not damage the bung.

What do I do once I receive my barrel?

You will want to fill it within a couple days of receiving your barrel. If you're not ready to fill your barrel yet, then you can just fill it with cold water for short term storage. See how to store your barrels long term in FAQ.

How to store your barrels long term?

To store your barrels for long term you will want to make a mixture of citric acid and potassium metabisulfite at a rate of 4g of citric acid and 8g of potassium metabisulfite per gallon of cold water. WARNING! You will want to do this in a well ventilated area as this produces sulphite gasses. Once done storing your barrel, you will want to rinse this solution out several times with cold water before filling.
